Emergency axe for Waco or Horsa type gliders, used to allow the aircraft to be released in the event of a crash.

It was also used in other aircraft such as the C-47, B-17, ….

Its rubber handle is insulated up to 20000 volts.

This example comes from the sector of Crépon (Calvados) and thus probably allotted to the English troops.
