Complete sand camouflaged M-40 helmet.

Recently found in Vire, this Stahlhelm model 40 originally painted in green has been camouflaged by applying a sand paint leaving the eagle visible.

It then received some green spots on top of the sand color and we can notice several paint drips because the application was done with a spray gun.

Its maker is not the most common one since it is a NS (Vereinigte deutsche Nickelwerke Schwerte) of size 64 and steel sheet number DN92.

The interior leather is in perfect condition with a good patina from use. The steel buckle chinstrap is in very good uncut condition and although the rivets are no longer plated to the shell, this helmet has never been disassembled.

A very nice helmet in a superb “juice” typical of the battles of the summer 1944 in Normandy.
