Flieger Regiment of the Lutfwaffe “Field” gas mask, identified as Kroll L54518D, corresponding to the regiment 71.
The Flieger-Regiment 71, participated in the retreat of the German forces from the south of France (Montélimar, Valence, Lyon), from 19 August to September 1944.
In Lyon, around 29-30 August 1944, a battle group was formed under the command of Generalleutnant Von Schwerin (189th Reserve Infantry Division), to build and defend a bridgehead south-east and east of Lyon and thus prevent the advance of the liberation troops.
The mask case original colour, size D, marking 372 and presence of 3 spare lenses.
Mask with all its straps dated 1941 and lenses BWZ 1941, B Kroll on one of the straps.
Cartridge with FE1942 marking.
This set was discovered in Savoie.
