The Tank Destroyer is an anti-tank unit of the US Army.
The formation of the Tank Destroyer was decided on 27 November 1941 by the War Department, which launched the formation of independent battalions.
The first battalions were engaged in North Africa during Operation Torch. They were then involved in all the battles in Europe where they benefited from increasingly powerful equipment specifically designed for their role: the M18 Tank Destroyer Hellcat, M36 Jackson and the TDM10.
